Former Infosys Chief’s AI Startup Nabs Another $53M in Funding

Vishal Sikka’s Hang Ten Systems has secured an additional $53 million in funding, bringing its total to a staggering $85 million just months after its founding. The investment, led by Temasek’s Xora platform, is a testament to the startup’s bold claim that AI can revolutionize software development for large enterprises.

Sikka argues that AI has shifted the focus from writing code to defining requirements and validating system performance. This shift may seem minor, but it’s a significant change in how companies build and maintain software. By automating routine tasks, Hang Ten promises its customers a 10-fold improvement in cost, speed, or both.

The startup’s early results are impressive: it has secured multiple seven-figure contracts and is pursuing eight-figure deals with major enterprises worldwide. Its customer base spans 21 major companies, including Fresenius Kabi, Saudi Aramco, and Siemens Energy. Hang Ten’s Hobie framework packages reusable AI “skills” for regulated industries and complex enterprise software projects, allowing it to deliver production-ready software with teams as small as two to four people.

Hang Ten is not just a disruption waiting to happen – it’s already making waves in the industry. The company’s approach is forcing traditional systems integrators to adapt: many of its engagements are replacing incumbent providers.
